Cisco Career Certifications is an industry recognized, multilevel program that trains and certifies network professionals to design, implement, operate and support a Cisco network. Cisco provides three levels of certification for IT professionals with several different tracks to meet individual needs. The first level of certification includes CCNA and CCDA. The second level of certification is CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional).
The CCNA Certification is a prerequisite for CCNP Certification.
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
The CCNP certification (Cisco Certified Network Professional) indicates advanced or journeyman knowledge of networks. With a CCNP, a network professional can install, configure, and troubleshoot local and wide area networks for enterprise organizations with networks from 100 to more than 500 nodes. The content emphasizes topics such as security, converged networks, quality of service (QoS), virtual private networks (VPN) and broadband technologies.
The following 4 exams are required for CCNP Certification:
Once you have passed your exams, CCNP certification is valid for 3 years. To recertify after this period you can either pass the 642-891 Composite exam, or pass both the 642-801 BSCI and 642-811 BCMSN exams, or pass a CCIE written exam.
